Candy Cane Lane Stamp Of Approval Collection

I received my SOA Box just a few days ago and I LOVE it!! Today I want to share a few cards I have made since getting my collection.

First..
I cased a card by Lisa Harrole, I loved her card so much I had to remake it. For the background I used the Peppermint Stick Background stamp. I cut out the large labels from the Merry Labels die set and stamped the sentiment from the Merry and Bright stamp set and also the branches and ornaments from the same set. I added some ribbon to the centre and adhered the label with foam tape to give it some dimension.

My second card...
uses the stag from the Hip Holidays stamp set, which I think is super cute with the added patterns to his chest and ears. There is even a little stamp for his eyes and nose!!  Again I used the large label and the die from the Merry Labels die set and the Christmas is from the Merry and Bright stamp set. I added the red fishtail banner for a pop of color.

The Third card...
I used the "Crooky Tree" and Merry Christmas sentiment stamps from the Hip Holiday stamp set. I love this tree and all of the patterns and solid pieces/layers in this set. I added and embellishment made with the Funky Flake dies from last years Holiday Magic SOA Collection.

Finally for today my fourth card...

I used my MISTI with a template by Maureen Wong, to repeat stamp the branch and then berries from Merry and Bright stamp set. I used the small label die from Merry Labels die set and stamped and embossed the Noel from Hip Holiday. The red frames were left over from a previous card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back soon as I have another stamp set from this collection I have not gotten inky yet :)

Reminder

Hi everyone it is that time of the month again.  Time to do your monthly self breast examination and if it is time book your mammogram.
This month's blog hop has a theme "Remind a Sistah".  As you already may know we hop on the 17th of each month, the anniversary of the day Michelle Saugstad Gross, owner of CAS-ual Fridays discovered her lump.  This goal of this Blog Hop to promote the importance of early detection and to remind our sistahs to do their self breast exams.
It's important to Michelle to be able to give back and pay it forward, so she donates 50% of the profits from her special Calling All Sistahs Collection to Nationalbreastcancer.org.
My card this month is simple and straight to the point.

We have over 20 bloggers this month. Please visit each one and leave a comment by August 19th, for your chance to win 1 of 3 $15 gift certificates to the Casual Fridays store.

Below is a list of all the stops on the hop.

Birthday Balloons

Hi all,

This week is my last week as Guest Design Team member over at StampNation. I have enjoyed every minute of it. This week we were asked to draw inspiration from one of the StampNation members Gallery she goes by Owleyes. I browsed her Gallery a few times and one card really stood out to me. My card today is a CASE of her Birthday card. I used the same layout and colors, but different stamps.

I used the HB2U stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs for the Young at Heart Stamp of Approval Collection. This set is available this week in Catherine Pooler's Online Store. Then again when the store opens permanently in August. the store contains all of the stamps dies and stencils from the first three SOA collections and three brand new products by Catherine Pooler Designs, two new stamp sets and one set of ampersand dies. I have ordered them all and they will arrive this week!!

Thanks for stopping by

Catherine Pooler's New Online Store

There’s a new online paper crafting store….and I was one of the first to check it out! Catherine Pooler announced the other day a soft opening of her new online shop – one that will sell older Stamp of Approval Collections (SOA) – and her brand new line of stamps – Catherine Pooler Designs!

The store opens Saturday June 25th at 9 AM EST to StampNation members and the next day to newsletter subscribers. If there’s something you’ve been dying to have, don’t miss out – the soft opening is only 5 days till it’s permanently open in August!

I ordered the three new stamps and dies (shown above) and also the new dies to go with Eva's favorite flowers.

I was a bit worried about the looming Canada Post strike and my ability to get these products in my hands. I emailed Catherine and she added more shipping options to get our orders to us including Fedex and UPS.  Thank you Catherine!!

Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop

Welcome to the Calling all Sistahs Blog hop!!

It's the 17th of the month, and you know what that means. It is time for your reminder to do your monthly self-exams and schedule your yearly mammograms.

Michelle from CAS-ual Friday's designed a line of stamps and dies especially for this cause when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. You can read her story here.

I have made two cards for this hop used the Calling All Sistahs stamp set and Ribbon of Hope stamp set.

My first card was stamped and embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I decided to add a frame and it was embossed three times to make it look metallic.

My second card was embossed with white embossing powder, colored with distress inks. I added some water drops to the ink and then used a paper towel to remove the water after about 10 seconds. I love the distressed look. The fishtail flags were also inked up and embossed with black and white embossing powder.

Thank you for hopping today and remember this month there will be a $15 Gift Certificate given to 3 people that comment along the hop. You have until May 19th @ midnight EST to comment.

Happy Birthday to You!!

I made this card for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #147 - Birthday Girl. I used the Tin Roof stamp and embossed it in silver. I cut down that panel with a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp. Next I layered the panel in a piece of silver cardstock, and mounted on this on a card base of blue violet from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is from All About You by CAS-ual Fridays. I cut the words apart to make the sentiment horizontal and stamped it on a stitched fishtail tag of the same blue violet cardstock and embossed it in white. The die cut You is Is from the 2 Yous dies from CAS-ual Fridays. I die cut 3 white and 1 blue violet and layered the 3 white die cuts together and embossed the top 3 times with silver embossing powder and finished by mounting them on the blue violet die slightly offset.

Thank you for coming by and having a look.  Susan

Tin Roof

OMG!!! I got the Tin Roof stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays today and it is Beautiful!!  I could not wait to play with it!!
I started with the larger of the two Tin Roof stamps and inked it up with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then inked the panel with Distress inks.  I die cut the Thanks from the panel using the Smiling Fri-dies. The panel was then mounted over a purple piece of cardstock and stamped a sentiment from the  Bravo stamp set on a white stitched flag die cut.

For my second card I used the smaller Tin Roof image stamp and embossed it with black embossing powder. I used my Gansai watercolors to color my Panel.  Once it was dried I used a wavy die to cut out a section of the card panel. The word Smile is from the new Smiling Fri-dies. and I used the wavy die to line up the sentiment from the Hope Ribbon stamp set onto the card panel between the wavy panel pieces.

Inspiration Nation Day 3

It is Day 3 and the mood board is up and the colors are beautiful and shapes are geometric!!
For this card I used the abstract stencil from MFT and inked up areas with Sweet Mango, Ocean Mist, and Bubblegum ink by GKD.  I used some masking paper to mask of areas of the stencils rather than have the inks blend. I cut the tag using Tag Buddies Fri-dies.  I used the inlaid die cut technique for the words Love ya.  The word MOM is part of a stamp from Hero Arts that I masked off to just ink up the word. I finished it up with gold twine and sequins.

I hope you liked today's card!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Browns and Greens

These are not colors I use very much. The Mood board for Day 2 of Inspiration Nation at StampNation is up and when I saw it this morning I did not have clue what I would make. I went to my stamps and looked through them and found a set called Fall Foliage from Gina K Designs and used the colors from the mood board and created this card.
The embellishment was a left over from another card I made recently.
Thanks for coming by and having a look!!

Online Card Class - Sheer and Clear Day 3

This class has been really fun and informative. Today I have used acetate on my card and not to make a shaker card. I embossed it with an embossing folder and sandwiched the acetate between 2 layers of cardstock with a square cut out of it making a "window" to the inside. The leaves and flowers were cut out of a piece of watercolor paper I previously used Color Bursts on and then stamped and die cut the flowers using the Enchanted Garden stamps and dies I got from the Beautiful World - Stamp of Approval collection.

Have a great Sunday, Susan.

Clear & Sheer Online Card Class

I am taking the Clear & Sheer Online Card Class. I am a bit behind on my homework so here is a card I made from Day 1 & 2 of the class. I used 1/8" Sookwang tape to adhere the vellum which I colored with Ocean Mist, Turquoise Sea and Blue Lagoon inks from Gina K.Designs. The Sentiment is from the HB2U stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs and was heat embossed with Rose Gold Embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp. The twine was a piece that came in from Lawn Fawn tied around my stamps.

MFT Challenge Card

I am a day late...

I am a day late making my post for the newest StampNation Challenge #201. The challenge this week is a Photo Inspiration Challenge. I took a few items from the photo and made this card.

This is my first post/card as a Guest Designer for the next 3 months over at StampNation. I have been keeping this secret for a while.

Next, I made a card for the ongoing designer paper challenges by Catherine.  She has so many ideas on how to use designer paper and she is not done yet. Here is my latest card.

The Ton is having a Challenge!!

Today I made a card for The Ton's Color Palette Challenge
I chose the rose red color from the palette and used it as the layer under my main panel and attached it to a black top fold card base.
My main Panel was stamped using the Ton's Rose Trellis background stamp with Black Onyx ink. I only stamped the left side and the rest was left white. Next. I added a strip of silver glitter tape and a thin strip of black card stock and I felt the tape was a bit too wide and I needed to make it appear thinner.  The sentiment is from Shoe Wardrobe 2 Ed. Solid stamp set. I stamped it with Versafine black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by, check out the challenge and make your own creation.

Gumball Greetings...

...is the name of the second Card Kit by My Favorite Things. This set is super adorable and loaded with enough product to make 10 Gumball Machine cards. Extra "gumballs" and shaker card pouches are available in the MFT store. As soon as I got my kit and checked everything out I had to make a couple of cards.

There are so many sentiments to go with this Gumball machine.

Next I want to share with you my new custom made ink storage unit from Shelve-It.ca.

It comes unfinished and I plan to paint it white to match my other storage units. This was a great bargain for $90.00 including shipping!!!

That's all for now

Happy Sunday

Hello there. Today I want to share with you some of the cards I have made using the new Stamp of Approval - Young at Heart Collection. If you are not familiar with this collection, it is a collection of stamps, dies and at times stencils and other crafty things such as sequins or a sparkly pen.  These collections are created by Catherine Pooler and come out four times a year. So far there has been four collections and I love them all!  The latest collection is birthday themed and amazing.  Enough with the small talk... here is what I have created so far.

For this card I also used the flowers and greenery from the Gina K Designs Stamp TV Kit.

This card was a CASE'd from a card by Iliana Garza Myska That I saw on Facebook.

The colored panel on these cards were inspired by a video on you tube by Jennifer McGuire that showed the Stamping over Stamping technique.

I hope you liked what you saw and Have a great Sunday!!
